Porta-Hang door hangers are designed to fit a common range of door frames. Most homes with sturdy wood or metal frames will work. Shown here is the perfect fit. Some range of fit is acceptable.
Before buying, measure your frame to ensure Porta-Hang will fit properly. The ranges here are approximate.
Weight limit for wooden door frames is 225 lbs and metal door frames is 300 lbs.
This is a demo door frame for showing Porta-Hang fits on different size door frames.
Most door frames will fit the range to the right. Hotels and many homes will have trim which is 2-1/2” or 3”. Homes with Craftsman style trim range from 3-1/2” to 5” or more. The trim must have a flat ledge on top and be at least 1/2" thick.
Measure your trim like this. Put a tape measure or ruler on the ledge. This trim for example is 3”.
Porta-Hang is made to fit small to medium trim found in most homes. Check the fit guide below for details.
2-1/2" trim; Excellent fit and very secure.
3" trim; Also good fit and very secure.
3-1/2" trim; Good fit and very secure.
4" trim; Porta-Hang may fit a little high in this case. Use if the grip is comfortable.
This 4-1/2"+ door trim is too tall and the Porta-Hang does not fit.
